Dear Richard/Dave.

Using CAESAR-II version 5.3.1 based on ASME B 31.3 2008 Code.
In CONFIG FILE I selected the option of considering the WELD STRENGTH REDUCTION FACTOR (Wc) in the anlaysis.

Problem 1 : I Considered a material A 335 P11 Temperature 538C. I didn’t inputted any value/ I left blank for WC when a tee is defined.

In this case there is no change in the allowables for sustained stresses for TEES, BENDS, REDUCERS etc.. (I mean whereever circumferential welds are there).

But I checked in ASME B 31.3 2008 Code in that table Wc Value is 0.82. then why CAESAR-II is not considering that value. I made any mistake.

Problem 2: If I input the WC value when a tee is defined then CAESAR-II is considering that WC values for only TEES.. what about BENDS, REDUCERS etc..

Problem 3 : Why the option(Entering the value of WC) is only given at defining TEE region. Why not for BENDS, REDUCERS etc.. Is there any particular reason.

Please correct me if Iam wrong.
