Hi all,

Mechanical Department calculates a tank based on API 650. This tank have 16 meter height and 20 meter of diameter. It's divided in 7 sections which each have a different thickness. For lowest plate (near to the floor), the thickness is 5/8" and the internal pressure of tank is about 2 bar, full of brine.

When I simulate the nozzle of tank in WRC 107 module, only Pm fails.

According to API 650, A36 allowable is 160 MPa. So, why CAESAR II is considering for WRC 107 module a value approx. of 114 MPa?

How this tank was calculated using allowable of 160, the thickness for 114 isn't sufficient for this pressure.

Can someone clarify this?

Thanks in advance.
