Hello!
Large diameter column over head piping dropping vertically down having first gravity support as trunnion . Horizontal trunnion modeled on two sides of vertical main piping. Now CAESAR shows considerable unequal load distribution between these two supports although located at same elevation. In the past, stress engineers are used to model only centre support and divide equal loads to design supports. But now engineers are trying to model exactly same as what is there!.
Would you please answer why C-II shows different loads on two trunnions? Is this due to the limitation of beam element theory instead of using detail finite element analysis using SHELL elements. Should I treat them as equal load distribution or to use what C-II shows?
