I have a 10 inch line with local corrosion. I mean it has some external corroded spots in a limited area (around 100 mm).Wall thickness calculation base on the minimum measured thickness of the corroded area (from RT report) shows this line is fit for service. Client asked us to do stress analysis with CAESAR for this line. It means I have to consider a 100mm piece of pipe with minimum measured thickness and run Caesar ii. challenge is I'm not sure if this analysis is a right solution as I think a finite element software like Ansys is the solution. On the other hand ASME B31.3 doesn't have any recommendation for the SIF of corrosion. Do you CAESAR to would be helpful while I don't have any access to other finite element soft-wares?
