The only thing that I can comment is that I am a precision mecanics engineer and I was studying Bourdon effect in University. What I remember (apart of the girls) is that only in the presence of a accentuated ovality this effect was effective. So it is up to you to think about this as a problem. I had the formulas but as a lazy student I have no more.
