Lock pin will be removed once the hydrotest is over and fluid is set to flow inside pipe. In other words, once line is ready to operate. The spring is set with preset load. Once the lock pin is removed after hydrotest this preset load will impose unbalanced load/ displacement on pipe. This is because pipe is empty and no load exists opposite to preset load. In most of the cases the unbalanced loads will not have significant effect on our piping system. Moreover, if flowing medium is steam or gas (low density), unbalanced loads are very less.

In your case I don't think there should be difficulty in removing pin after module reach at platform. If flowing medium is liquid then it is prudent to remove pin afterwards.
