Hello kk

During the lift, the vessel is treated as a simply supported beam suspended between the tailing and lifting lugs. We used numeric integration to perform this analysis because the vessel could have different diameters, an assortment of cones. some nozzles and a skirt.

The programme is actually quite involved, because the vessel is sliced into small sections that have to be combined. However, if you were to build a vessel with a skirt and one cylinder having identical dimension, you could compute the weight multiplied by the snatch (impact) factor, and knowing the section modulus of the combined cylinder get the bending stress in the centre of the vessel at the lift. Do not attach any heads to make the analysis simpler. Otherwise we would need to give you maybe a thousand lined of source code.
