Dear all, I'm facing a strange bureaucratic question today.

I have to find the exact reference on ASTM standard, stating that A36 can be normalized.

On paragraph 6 of ASTM 36 it is specified that A36 can be also supplied as semi-killed or killed steel... but what about a "heat threatment" paragraph (similar to the paragraph 5 of ASTM 516..) ?

The problem is that, according to UCS-66, each non-normalized low alloy belonging to Curve A, when, normalized shall be grouped with Curve-B materials.
A36 occurrence in COADE material database is coherent with this statement (infact, choosing normalized A36 in the "Material Panel" will assign it to Curve B), but I can't find on ASTM standards the paragraph that declares that this threatment is allowed for A36.

I know that this might be a silly question, but I hope that anybody can help me out of this boring issue.

Thank you, ciao!
