Dear users,

I am using PV Elite2006 for analyzing a horizontal shell supported on 5 saddles using EN 13445 standard. The program came out giving an error message that more than 4 supports can not be solved. As such EN 13445 addresses multi supported shells. Pl. look into the problem and advise, whether any default option needs to be changed.

Also, on changing the supports to 4, output contained results based on Zick analysis with two supports only.

The information is urgently required.

Dear SRKM,

PV Elite at this time does not have more than 4 saddles.

For 4 saddles we divide the load among 4 saddles and then analyze the 2 outer most saddles per Zick analysis. As you may know that the Zick paper only addresses a vessel on 2 saddles.

In the future we plan to implement the EN method for the saddles. In the mean time you may use the Zick method and try to be on the conservative side.
