DEAR RICHARD AY,

I here want to ask two questions.I am using CII 4.5
1,this question may not be a new one:
......
L2:W+D1+T1+P1+H(HGR) hanger stiffness as designed
......
L6:W+D1+T1+P1+H(OPE) hanger stiffness as designed

I first think that the loads and the displacements values of this two case are the same ,but acturally there are a little bit difference, though the difference are small.
I don't know if the problem has solved in Cii5.0 ,need your comments.

2. CII use the L2 case travel results to select a spring, it seeems that cii don't check if the loads in the following cases
are still within the load range of the selected springs.
I usually need to check the spring load in design temperature if it is selected in operation temperature and design temperature is much higher than the latter.
so, i don't know if it is worthwhile to add a function in cii to check in some case ,select springs are still ok.

thank you very much!

Whm,

1) Case (L2) is one of the load cases used to design the hanger, and as such, it is not a real load case - the hanger isn't there yet. So "yes", the results probably won't match any of your real load cases. (This is why in the old days you could never review the results of the HGR load cases.)

2) You're correct here. However, if that is your situation then you want to alter the Hanger Run Control dialog and inform CAESAR II that you have more than one Hanger Operating case. When you do this, CAESAR II will add additional HGR load cases during the hanger design phase, so this problem is avoided.
