Hi There! I have a stupid question for you, forgive my ignorance. I always can not have the sense of moments, when I look through the number. Can I manually calculate the moment works on each node, using known pipe configuration (pipe direction) and pipe dimension? What is the formula for that?
When it is shown as Mz, how can I describe/imagine the movement 3 dimensionally? Is it the same with using my right thumb as Z axes and the other 4 fingers show the moment movement?

Thanks!! wink

There is a "write up" on the right hand rule and how it can be applied to determine the local coordinate system in CAESAR II. This "write up" can be found in:
  • The Technical Reference Manual for Version 4.40, p6-123 through 6-141.
  • The February 2002 issue of COADE's Mechanical Engineering News. If you don't have a hard copy of this, it is on this website, in the "Newsletter" section.
