I have a system comprised of Victualic fittings. There are lots of 10" SR elbows in this system. However as you can see in the attached catalog cut, these 10" elbows have a center to end length of 9".

After trying to adjust the bend radius to < 1, Caesar II doesn't seem to allow this. However, that's what these fittings are.

Is there a work around for this? I'd like to avoid having to adjust all the straight lengths to increase the elbow lengths just to make the program happy.

Changing each elbow to a pair of rigids works, but I'm not sure that's the best practice.

There is no work-around, CAESAR II will enforce its geometry check. What you can do is:

a) Compute the SIF manually.
b) Model these elbows as straight pipe - to their intersection point.
c) Apply the SIF to the three node points of interest (the two end points and the intersection point).

Just type in the "actual radius" or C-E dimension of 9". In the past you could type in the radius dimension. The SIF and Flex factor will be close enough. The code SIF and Flex factors are still approximations to start with...

Additional note: Victaulic couplings can rotate unless you specify the Anchor type. Hexagon/Coade had an article to model these like ball joints with rotational limits etc.
