We have custom data that is mapped to our title block. If a part is added after filling out the fields then the custom fields have to be re-entered. Is there a way to automate this like how the line number inherits when Autor routing, or a match property button?

If not is there a way to map the title block attribute to a line list in excel, by looking up the line number and populating mapped fields as in Plant 3d map attributes via LTD look mapping?

The goal it to automate the iso title block attributes, preferably from the line list in excel. Maybe there is a plug in that automates this.

Thank you for your time.

You can add custom data default values in the cat or prj. This will fall through to the items.
Then the Spec View palette has the Custom Data tab, which you can then change the custom data default values again if need be.

If you need to change the custom data values after the items are placed, the fastest way would be using MTOWorx, where you can modify multiple items at once.

As far as mapping data from CWX items to a title block attribute, it is possible. There should be a post on the forums on how to link the two together. But it's much easier to use ISOWorx.

We simply look for the attribute tag from the title block and match it to data in the Excel, database, or cloud-based line list.

There are a couple of ways on how you can map line information to the title block attributes. Or custom Data to the Isogen BOM. You can also map custom data to component attributes for regular callouts on the Iso.

Some links to recorded webinars below, which will provide some insight.

Thank you for the quick reply Mat & Vanman, I am transitioning back to Cadworx after a Plant 3D hiatus.
I will look into editing an XML POD/GED to see if I can make it read our line list, if not I'll look into the plug ins.
Have a great day and I'm sure I'll be reaching out soon.

As a side note with regards to the PGP/GED, you can omit the Isogenprojectdatasetup. Since version2019 this is not longer needed.
