What is the best way to manage welds on job with a fab shop? I have added shop welds and field welds to my specs, with defaults and optionals based on the size ranges determined to be field or shop fabbed. I turned on auto weld insertion rule, and it is placing shop welds fine. When I want to change a certain weld to a field weld (for shipping box spool size) I am unable to delete the shop weld. The shop weld immediately comes back due to the auto insertion rule. Do I have to turn off the rule every time I want to delete a shop weld to place a field weld? Or have I set it all up incorrectly?

I do see that if I delete one of the two components at the FW site I am then able to delete the shop weld and manually place a FW. Then I can place the removed component, which gives me the desired result. I assume this is how it is designed to work when using the auto weld insert rule.

You can do a CEDIT and change the object type for the weld.
