I understand in the piping manufacturing specification it allows the mill to fabricate piping to a wall thickness tolerance of 12.5 percent and that this is then allowed for during certain calculations in the Code.

Can someone tell me if it is possible to use the actual pipe thickness by physically measuring and recording this thickness therefore not having to reduce the nominal wall thickness by 12.5 percent? If so, where in the Code is this detailed?

Thanks,

Todd
