While looking into building a few adjust on the fly pipe support assemblies I noticed I could not map to the 2019 Structural .PRJ and I had to map to the piping Steel_I folder to make the components available to custom build assemblies.

1.) Is the is the proper way to build custom pipe supports in 2019? I feel like we were getting away from steel and using structure)

2.) Is there any way to get the assembly to export all individual materials from each assembly with cut lengths to a BOM ?

To my knowledge the legacy steel is still being used for Structural pipe supports. Building the Supports are the same workflow as in previous versions.

To run a pipesupport BOM, use the PSC bom template. This will give you an option for Assembly level Pipe Support or Component level.

Vanman is correct, using the .dat files has not changed even going into 2020.
