Hi guys

As I know,
in "Max" combination method with 6 "exp" load cases
allowable stress is from one of 5 load cases...

but I found some strange like below
LC51 : 78.7% (code stress/allowable stress, 198.1Mpa/251.8Mpa)
LC52 : 83.8% (209.7/251.8)
LC53 : 80.1% (201.7/251.8)
LC54 : 82.4% (207.3/251.8)
LC55 : 89.3% (211.2/236.5)
LC56 : 84.5% (199.8/236.5)
LC59 : 122.2% (211.2/172.8)

in this case, I think allowable stress of LC59 should be 236.5Mpa
not 172.8.....as I know, max case's allowable is from the load case which have max ratio(code/allowable)

Please let me know... why 172.8 can be specified as allowable of max load case...

below data is from CII

Be careful, the MAX cases for stress reports may not offer realistic results. The failure criteria for different load cases may be different, leading to stress components (bending, axial, etc) from cases that did not contribute to the maximum code stress. There are further complications (including circular dependencies) with attempting to perform a MAX summary of combination load cases.

We are currently developing a set of guideline/suggestions for using the MAX load case option. Please open an SR on Smart Support so a detailed explanation can be sent when it is available.
