More accurate option is to use finite element analysis method. There are many commercially available programs. One of them that I have used successfully in the past is Nozzle Pro. It has a simplified interface for vessel-nozzle junction and provides the comparison of stresses to their respective allowables.

You can visit them at www.paulin.com. We also have an interface from CodeCalc's WRC107 module to this program.

You may also send your input file to our support email address (support@coade.com) and put it to my attention.
