Dear Friends,
I will be very pleased if anyone help that my comment on Pvelite software is true or not.
In horizontal vessels(Pvelite software 2005 & previous), in the section of saddle calculation, if you enter Moment in Force/Moment Dialog, Pvelite will not consider the effect of this Moment in the calculation of Q (load on saddle).
I think Pvelite must consider the effect of entered Moment on the calculation of saddle load (Q), because in the calculation of stresses on shell Q is an important parameter.
If it is true, let us help Pvelite software to correct it in the future version
Regards,
Nadrei

Hello M

You are quite correct in you assertion. However, if you enter a force then its effect is considered. The best way of taking moments into account is to resolve the moment into a force and the lever arm. In this way, the moment is included in the model.
