Need your help on this topic which is most urgent.

We have one stress analysis line with A106 GR.B line with PTFE lined inside the pipe.

In the stress analysis what are the important points to be taken care.

It's brittle and weak compared to steel, and the properties get very bad very quickly with temperature.

Also being a plastic, its properties are reliant on the manufacturer's quality of coating.

My question is whether due to PTFE lined pipe should be modeling same like metallic pipe in CAESAR II or any special things need to select.

Not to speak for Michael, but I think his point was the lining is insignificant from a pipe stress perspective compared to the metal pipe.

If you were doing flow analysis or calculating pressure drops, the PTFE liner becomes relevant.

From a metallic stress standpoint, PTFE effects should be mild, unless for some reason you have a very thick coat, which you can input as refractory to add weight. Otherwise, the pipe will by and large act like a steel pipe.

However, what we can't comment on will be the precise limitations to the flexure of the PTFE coating. Even the manufacturer would have problems with that, I'm sure.
