Dear All,

Is it possible in CAESAR-II, to model equipment + dished end on top of a reactor along with a spool above it from where the flue gases escape. Scope is to find out possible forces, moments, displacements, stresses etc., at junctions of an integrated system = entire equipment(s) with inter-connected piping.

Or, is there any equivalent method to represent those dished ends in the model?

Thanks in Advance.

Regards,
Guatham Ajay.

The best CAESAR can currently do is a WRC-107 stress calculation on a central nozzle on a head.

If the nozzle is offset, you're using WRC-107 at your own risk. Typically, people use NozzlePro for this.

Dear Gautam,

Dished end modelling in CAESAR II not possible.

Only for thermal expansion purpose you need to consider as rigid.

Nozzle load you need to transfer to vessel calculation. because for dished end we cannot use WRC calculation.

I'm curious why you would write off WRC-107.
