Dear All,

I have a case where the design is based on an existing equipment provided by client. However, i need to resolve a failure in anchor bolt area due to shear load. Can someone advise me the values of allowable stress of the bolts. I am thinking of using AISC values but am confused with values i find in "Base plate and Anchor Rod Design" and Dennis Moss Book. Am i correct to take 20KSI for tension(SA307-B) and. 0.66Sb for Shear stress. Why does the other book says 43.5 KSI for nominal tensile Stress and 23.2KSI for nominal shear stress?
