Is there any PVRC recommendation for Flange Design , which is different from ASME SEC VIII DIV1 APP2 Requirements? This document has a reference to WMo term which is different from Wm1 or Wm2 term , as mentioned in APP. 2.

I could not find any reference to this document in the website of PVRC and WRC .

It will be of great help , if you can kindly thtow some light on this document no.

The requirement came in this form: We have to check the Flange design w.r.t PVRC recommendation and Sec VIII DIv 1 APP2 reuqirements and go for the more conservative design.

PVRC is working on newer flange design rules for some years now. When released it will probably be appendix BFJ in the code. As far as I know, some issues are in the process of being worked out.

In this method you select the tightness class, which have different leak rates. The gasket parameters are also different. Wmo is required operating bolt load that is computed in this method.

Can you ask your client to provide a copy of the draft of this appendix?
