I have turned on the check box for wind loading in the input. In the analysis on the load case editor wind tab, I have entered direction cosines for the wind loading, the wind speed and all of the other relevant factors. I have set up my load cases for sustained and wind for occasional stress. I have also set up (OPE + WIN) - (OPE) so I can see wind alone. I have set up various other combinations. How come I cannot see in the results any effect due to wind? BTW, this is a 60" diameter pipe in a 100 mph wind. I should see something.

When you say "see", are you referring to the output graphics plot or an output report (e.g., displacements)?

Did you specify a wind shape factor when you enabled wind? Not everything input into CAESAR is necessarily a pipe, despite being displayed as such.
Otherwise, it's difficult to gauge what went wrong without files.

Michael, I put in the shape factor.
Dave, I am looking at the output reports and all I see is zeroes everywhere!
This should be straightforward. I have been using CII for 20 years. I must be missing something really simple and obvious.

It would made sense only if the operating case contain also WIN by chance. In this case the two cases would be equal hence your zero. Or maybe you have some custom unit file. Sometimes it make some problems. You may want to convert in English units and see what happen.

If it's not wind shape factor, wind, or load cases, check for file corruption.
Create a brand new file with just the 60" pipe, an anchor, and a vertical support, and wind.
If you see wind effects in that test file, but not your project file, then try importing the geometry from your old file into a new file and see if wind effects are working.

Even your regular operating case + WIN1 has zeroes in displacements and restraint loads? For the cosines did you do "1"? Or did you forget to add back the isolated occasional load to the sustained?

Check the global coordinate of your first node - make sure the elevation of your model is correct.

Hello all that helped me out re my "Wind Load" post. As I stated above, I must be missing something really simple and obvious. As it turns out, Richard was right on the mark with his comment about checking elevation. Thank you Richard.
