Have been struggling with this matter for almost 2 days now. I am not sure if it is bug in the program or simply some details that I have overlooked.

Design Equipment:

1.U Tube shell and tube hex. 2 passes on tube side i.e. channel with a single pass partition plate
2. Confined tube sheet.
3. Integral flange on channel and shell.
4. Gasket OD/ID = 2326mm/2282mm with pass partion rib along the diameter/centreline 2282mm in length. Width of pass partition gasket is 10mm.
5. Gasket type, solid metal SS 316L, Sketch 1a Column 1 for pass partition, Sketch 1c Column 1
6. Design pressure is 9060 kPag
=================================================
Inputs:

Ring Gasket OD = 2326mm
Ring Gasket ID = 2282mm
Gasket Thickness = 3mm, T per Div I Appendix 2, Table 2.5.2
Lgth of Pass Partition Gasket i.e. Rib = 2282mm
Pass Partition Gasket Width = 10mm i.e. N, per Table 2.5.2
Width of pass partition plate "nubbin" = 10mm i.e. w as per Table 2.5.2
Gasket material = Solid SS, 316L
m and y factor = 6.5 and 179 N/mm2

Output Results as calculated by PVELite

Main Gasket
-----------
Gasket Contact Width, N = GOD-GID/2 = 22mm
Basic Gasket Width, Bo = N/2= 11mm
Eff Gasket Width, Be = 2.52*sqrt11 = 8.357
Gasket React Dia, G = GOD-2 * Be = 2309.285

Pass Partition Gasket
---------------------
Effective Gasket Width, re Sketch 1c, Column I of Table 2.5.2

Bo = w+T /2 or w + N /4 whichever is smaller
Bo = 6.5 or 5, thus use 5mm max

Since 5mm < 6mm,
Effective Gasket Width, B=Bo=5mm THIS IS WHERE I AM FACING THE "PROBLEM"

Re PVELite's calc below:
------------------------------------------------
Contact Load on Gasket Surface

HP= 2*Be*PI*G*M*P + 2*Glpg*Bepart+Mpart+P
HP= 2*8.3576*3.14*2309*6.5*9060 + 2*2282*1.5*6.5*9060
HP=769360 kg.f

where,
Glpg = pass partition gasket length
Bepart = pass partition gasket effective width

------------------------------------------
BEpart, or the pass partition effective gasket width, has been calculated as 1.5 ???? by PVElite. Also refer to TEMA RGP-RCB-11.7, the sketch in there shows the effective seating width of the pass partition gasket as being the width of the pass partition plate at the contact point of the gasket.
---------------------------------------------

Any comments or advise will be much apperciated.
