Clamped shoe support on hardpuf cold piping insulation is slipping from racks and slippers. It looks slippage occurs due to thermal contraction.

My solution is to consider each clamped shoe like anchoerd cold shoe and this will stop slippage, if any due to radial contaction of cold pipe. Even, costly conical washers in flange bolts of shoe can be reduced to one/two stiff conical washers only.

What our forum members think about this solution, please write.

Thermal movement data can be very accurately calculated. If slippage does not occur, shoe falling from racks and slippers must not happen, if stress and support design is proper.

Your pipe needs to have lugs or such welded to it that contacts lugs welded to the clamps. If concerned about conduction, then you need to have stiff insulation between the two to absorb loads.
