Hi,

For a horizontal vessel of length 40meters (basically, it's a unit of reformer), i need to design the saddle supports by considering seismic loads.

PV-elite not allowing to run the model with more then 5nos of saddles. Also, I tried in codecalc where I can have the only option for 2saddles.

In this case, how can I approach for resolving the above problem? using PV-elite or Codecalc

anyone, please give some suggestion.

Firstly, in the case of multiple saddles (more than 2), PV Elite treats the weight on each saddle as the dead weight of the vessel divided by the number of saddles.

In the case of seismic analysis, there is an earthquake force in the saddle analysis. The earthquake analysis is not very detailed.

Is it recommended to use PV-elite seismic analysis in the above case?
or, Is it valid if I do seismic analysis by dividing equipment into 2 or 3 segments (by maintaining 2 saddles in one part segment of the equipment).

Also, can you explain the difference between "IS 1893 Code Edition:2005 Simplified calculation & 2015 calculation), in my case, I have site spectrum date is available w.r.t to time period & sa/g values.
IS 1893 Code Edition: 2005 Simplified calculation is failed but IS 1893 Code Edition: 2015 is passed.

by considering what case do I need to select them? Please advice
