Good morning,

I have a user having an issue today with Automatic Insertion of Gaskets and Bolts. We have a spec that has sizes 1/2"-24" in 150LB & 300LB ratings. I set up our configs with Apply Gasket Insertion Rule and Apply Bolt Insertion Rule set to Automatic. I have always used keywords for my bolts and gaskets.

Example gasket callout - {MAIN}-150LB GASKET 1/8" THICK SPIRAL WOUND..

Example bolt callout - {MAIN} x {LENGTH} LG STUD BOLT......

The problem we are having is that CADWorx is putting in 150LB gaskets and bolts automatically even on 300LB flanges. This is a very unusual pipe spec we usually only have one rating (150lb or 300lb or 600lb etc) per size so I have not run across this before. We can always work around it but I wanted to find out of there is a setting I am missing so that CADWorx reads the flange we are putting the components on and puts the right one.

When inserting components in the Spec Editor, the Component Class will inherit the spec default Component Class. If the spec setting is 150, your 300# gaskets and bolts will inherit the 150 rating. If you set you Component Class to 300# for your flanges, bolts, and gaskets, the correct gaskets and bolts should be dropped in automatically. See attached image.

I am guessing this is 2016 or older based on the speceditor screenshot.

The 2017 and newer versions have a bolt/gasket selection code that can be applied to specific flanges or valves that will solve your issue.
