IN latest EDITION OF PV ELITE, please address the following;

1. When we select user defined spectra and try to enter the spectra as copy from excel and paste in to s/w page, unable to do so. please do some thing as it is quite laborious and time consuming to enter each time period and acceleration manually.

2. When we use user defined spectra, there is no option to convey to programme whether we are feeding for DBE or MCE, and as a result PV elite do not consider higher allowable when we enter MCE case. Please advise how programme can identify and can consider higher allowable when we feed for MCE seismic spectra.

thanks and regards
AG

Hello Avedhesh,

1: PV Elite will be updated to allow cut and paste in the spectrum points dialog.

2: There is a checkbox for considering MCE in the seismic input and I believe this does affect the allowables. Please try this.

Thanks for the quick response.

1. Thanks, however do we need to wait till next version or you will provide patch for this. This is very essential and hence request to introduce patch if possible.

2. When you select Res. Spectrum/Userdefined; there is no option of MCE. MCE check option is available when we select IS1893 RSM.

Please check and revert.

regards

Hello Avedhesh,

Unfortunately hotfixes and service packs are issued once thorough testing has been conducted. We also issue them periodically once a number of issues are resolved for a service pack or hotfix.

We are very conscious of the needs of our customers, but we have to issue updates to the programme in a controlled manner to ensure that is operates correctly. There is a lot of testing involved.

Hello Avadesh,

As you have determined, the straight Response Spectrum option is generic and not directly connected in any way to a country specific region or Code. So the calculation of the tensile and compressive allowables falls back on the base design Code.

I would suggest that you work with your regional representative and have a Change Request (CR) filed for this option. This would be categorized as a new feature and would be in the 2019 version at the earliest.
