At present time, CAESAR assumes that all piping in the file is at water-filled weight and hydrotest pressure at hydrotest time.

However, this isn't always the case. Various users may wish to perform "leak" tests, which may mean water-filled weight in some parts of the line, and weight-no-contents in other parts of the line, and perform hydrotests with blinds and the like.

At present time, we can only specify one fluid density array per CAESAR file, with the second fluid density being hard-coded in.

Would there be any benefit to being able to adjust the current WW hard-coded value/array into an array that can be toggled as WW, WNC, or W?

Thanks.

This is an item in our backlog to work on. CAESAR II does need additional fluid density values. This is a huge change to the software though, you will have to specify which density is to be used in the load cases, just like temperature and pressure. Load case recommendations will be another big item to tackle.

We are looking at how to design this ability, no promises as to when this will be available though.

I would love that, especially for flare header calcs where the big headers don't need hydrotest but many parts of the branches need it.

The HYD case is not hard coded. It can be changed like we have been doing for years using WNC+HP (HYD) for a Pneumatic test. You can also use other pressures or leave the pressure term out for other reasons. The only problem recently discovered is that the "ignore insulation" flag only functions when WW is used in the (HYD) case. The Hexagon team has this on the list for action/review.

This was discovered when we were running some compressor alignment cases and trying to compare the insulated and non-insulated alignment results in one run.

I think that's fine if the entire model is to be pneumatically tested.
