Hello,
In the static output, What is the difference between Max Stress Intesity and Code Stress?
For example in 31.1, How can I calculate each one using "Axial" "Bending" "Tosional" and the SIFs ?
Thanks

Hello,

August 1992 Edition of ME News has a good explanation on this topic.

Warm Regards,

Hello,
Apologies, but in the ME Mews it is not explained how the "stress code" is calculated using "Axial" "Bending" and "Torsional Stress" and "SIF" from the static out output.
Using the equations of code 31.1 I do not get the same result !
Thanks

Generally, the individual "component stress" columns (e.g., axial stress, bending stress) in the CAESAR II static stress report are independent of the stress components found in the "code stress" column.
Consider the listed component stresses as generic terms.
You can confirm the listed code stresses by applying the listed loads, SIFs (or SSIs), and your A's & Z's.
There is work underway now to produce a stress report that will meet your expectations here. I cannot say when such a change will be released.
