Dear all,
if suppose to vessel design for compressor package, we have to consider vibration in the calculation is the main role.how can I proceed that kind of pressure vessel design in PVElite.

Hello DHANSH,

The vibration for a vessel in a package mainly comes from the compressor and motor - I am guessing. If that is the case, the PV Elite cannot really analyse that type of vibration which will be mainly felt between the supporting structure welded to the vessel.

Dear Bro,
ok fine. how can I prove our design the vessel for such kind of situations? The Vortex Shedding options are only used for only induced vibration right. please advise. ASAP.

Hello DHANSH,

I really need to know more about the design of this equipment. You mentioned vortex shedding, which only applies to a vertical vessel. In the case of a vertical vessel, the vortex shedding will only give a fatigue analysis for a skirt attached to a bottom head.

Actually, Compressor package consists of following Static & Rotating Equipments as listed follow.

1. Suction / Discharge Scrubbers
2. Suction / Discharge Bottles
(Based on No.of Stages, the qty. of vessels shall be increased.)
3. Inter-Stage Cooler
4. Condensate Heater
5. Compressor/Motor with all accessories included.
(such as lube oil Pump/Tank, dual oil filter, Catch Pot for Drain collection)
6.Aux.Cooler, water pump/surge tank.
That's all. this is for your kind info.

Hello DHANSH,

It is very unlikely that a fatigue analysis can be done for the vessel. If the vessel is mounted on support saddles, fatigue should not be a problem.
