Hi,
I have a project that require BS EN 10028-3 P355 NL2 material but I couldn't find it in the PVElite database. Is there any equivalent material inside the database that I could use or I have to create my own mechanical properties? Will it be incorporate in near future?

Thanks.

Hi Leehc

We are currently compiling the EN material database. We are hoping to have this file ready fairly soon, but it has to be collated with existing BS (British) steels, and checked before it is finally released.

The 2004 version of PVElite has provision to allow the user to add material to the database (PD5500 / EN13445 codes). This is a new feature, and can be used in the interim until we have completed our work on this database.

One of the problems is that the EN specifications do not give design stresses, but list the UTS and 0,2% (Yield) stress, and these stresses have to be converted to design stresses. We are using the PED (Pressure Equipment Directive) to derive these stresses.

While on this subject, we welcome any comments regarding these EN materials, as some of the information is not complete in the EN 10028 specifications.
