Has anyone else noticed that files brought in from Cadworks, if you go to "Save As" to name it something else or save another revision, it writes the file at a snail's pace? But if you were to create that same model from scratch and "save as" it writes the file in a flash...

This happens to us company wide. For example, I had a file that was sent to me out of Cadworks and it had about 10 elements, that is all, very small. And it took almost 7 minutes to save, on the 300kb file.

Curious if this happens to anyone else and if there's a known solution?

Were you saving on a network drive, or your local machine?

Note, if the model came from CADWorx, it contains CADWorx data in the CAESAR II piping model. This will make the input file bigger.

Richard, do you know if that includes custom component data? Some places really load down their components with dozens of extra entries. If that's the case then maybe there's a case for ignoring that extra information on the CAESAR side.

This is on a network drive. If I create a model with 100 elements from scratch and "save as" it saves in 2 or 3 seconds. But if I save the same model with 100 elements pulled from Cadworks, it can take 5-8 minutes.
