I need to design boot for Pressure vessel using PVElite,

So i designed the boot as nozzle and instead of flange i put dished end.
My concern is, since the boot height is very large i need to provide stiffener ring (minimum two no.).


Anyone please advise me how to insert this stiffening ring for this boot (Nozzle neck) in PVElite.

PV Elite cannot put a stiffening ring on the nozzle. The first thing to consider is the necessity of such a stiffening ring. Usually nozzles have a much large D/t ration than does the shell to which it is attached. In the nozzle analysis, PV Elite normally check the nozzle for external pressure.

If you have any doubts, model a nozzle and its sump head alone, to see if the rings are required.
