Our company's pipe support standard only specifies minimum and maximum values for pipe shoe height and length (particularly for pipe shoe whose height varies with pipe insulation thickness). Is it possible to create such kind of support in CADWorx? I tried using -1 value in the height and length parameters but it interprets the value as actual shoe dimensions.
Does variable dimension input work only in rods and pipe stanchions???

Yes this is possible, but you need to create Pipe Support Assembly by making use of 2 plate components.

You will then be able to specify the lengths for each plate to suite your design.

I received a response from a colleague as follows:

2018 supports variable length pipe shoes, not the prior versions. Even in case of insulation, user will want the shoe to weld to the actual pipe… but the shoe height would need to be larger. 2018 you can specify the variable height during placement or using the grip after placement if the data table WEBHEIGHT value is set -1).
