It might also just be corrupted. While not ideal, you can try to import it into a new file.
1. Save a backup.
2. Start a new CAESAR file.
3. Set the first element as node numbers you don't think is used in the first file. E.G. from node 1 to node 2. You'll delete this later.
4. Specify basic info for element 1-2... length, pipe size, wt, and material.
5. Environment>Include Piping Input Files
6. Browse to your file, click, ok.
7. Change "Read now" to Yes.
8. Delete element 1-2.
Notes:
1. This is my method for recovering files ordinarily lost to corruption.
2. You won't get your old results, or even your old load cases. You might be able to recover your old load cases by importing them through the load case editor.
3. Some information is lost, such as the model origin.
4. Some information may be "bad," if the file was corrupted. I would recommend review of the inputs.
