Vessel ID is 4461 mm, shell length is 8920 mm, nominal thickness is 19.1 mm, thickness profile is used for Level 2 FFS assessment for general metal loss for shell. Thickness profile shows almost all the thickness readings between 18.8 and 19.0 mm. Rt is more than 0.9 hence Q=50, L from equation 8 (Part 4 API-579-1) is approx 14500 mm, PVElite calculates tam more than 24.0 mm while nominal thickness is 19.1 mm, and thickness profile readings are between 18.8 to 19.0. My questions are:
1- How it is logical that L becomes more than the shell length?
2- Why PVElite calculates tam more than 24.0 mm? that looks not logical for tam to be more than nominal thickness and even more than measured thickness
