Sorry this isn't a specific PVElite question, but I have been told that there is an ASME Code Case that states you can not attach an internal head to a cylinder usin butt welds for mulitchamber vessel.

For example a 48" ID head to a 48" ID cyliner to a 48" ID head then to a 48" ID cylinder to a 48" ID head. So that the middle head to right cylinder is welded just like a head-to-skirt attachment.

Does anyone know what this code case is? I've looked in the subject index and I don't see anyhting that would match.

Thanks,
Mike

See interpretation VIII-1-92-210 page 613. This interpretation does not allow the type construction you described.
