Thanks for providing a good discussion group for user (as well as an excellent program). A couple suggestions .....
Problem 1: Under the "Tools....Configuration" screen, one can choose "pre-1999" as the basis for material properties. It is common to assume changes to configuration settings will "stick" as a default setting for future new files. However it doesn't seem to do this for us. I've tested changing a couple of the other configuration settings and they seem to "stick". Having some "stick" and some not is inconsistent.
Suggestion 1: I'd prefer that all configuration changes "stick" as a default setting for future work unless specifically changed by user. But as a minimum, the input screen should highlight items that don't "stick".
Problem 2: With the issue mentioned above, some of my users have run analysis using incorrect allowable stresses. A contributing reason is that the input screen doesn't clearly state what code addendum is being used for allowable stress properties.
Suggestion 2: Add the addendum being used on the "Material Dialog" input screen as well as on the "input echo" output file.
Thanks again. Look forward to your response. Also be interested from other users if you have had the same confusion mentioned above.
