Hello all CII users!!

Is Caesar II has an output for velocity not only displacement in the harmonic analysis module.

Many Thanks,

Sorry, there is no velocity output.

Although CAESAR II does not display nodal velocity, with harmonic analysis you can calculate it. If x=Asinwt, v=wAcoswt. W is your forcing frequency (in radians) and A is your maximum resultant nodal displacement. CAESAR II selects the phase angle to report that gives the largest nodal resultant displacement. What you have to do is have CAESAR II report the phase angle based on the node of interest. You do this at the end of the harmonic analysis.
Take a look...

Thanks Dave and Richard for the info. It would be nice if Caesar II will consider velocity (as part of future developments) as an output and have some comparison with the allowable velocity same as allowable amplitude per frequency based on some standards like API 618, etc.

Many Thanks,
