Dear Sir,

We need to model an agitator mounted Nozzle J on a flat head tank. This tank vibrates when the agitator is in operation. The underlying concern is that this may lead to fatigue failure over time. Nozzle J is reinforced with 4 pieces of C channels and 4 pieces of rib plates. Please refer to attached Tank Drawing for reference. Unfortunately, PV Elite does not allow user to do so on a flat head tank.

We tried using NozzlePRO to model in the nozzle reinforcement details but was unable to do so.
We could only model in a nozzle with repad (case 1) and the nozzle repad assuming other head part is a block(case 2)
For the results generated for both cases, we feel it is not representative of the actual situation because the reinforcement details are not modelled.
Could you please advise is there any way we can utilize PV Elite or NozzlePRO to model in the actual nozzle reinforcement details?

Thank you for your support in advance!
Best regards

Hwainien,

I just ran NozzlePRO as a stand alone programme, and obtained fatigue information for the nozzle in a flat head. Actually, you don't need PV Elite to do this analysis as you can run NozzlePRO alone.

Does that help you?
