Hi,

1.can some one advise the importance of Effective Id for rubber bellows?
2.Is Effective Id applicable from what pressure on wards?
Please share your experiences for slurry lines

Effective ID comes into picture only to calculate Pressure thrust , primarily for an untied joint or to evaluate forces at tie rods (if they are input in expansion joint modelling).

It is difference in id of pipe and covolutions and that only should be considered to calculate thrust forces on nozzles or anchors in line of thrust.

For slurry service, you probably need to have a lined below , if at all you can't avoid it altogether.

1.If we place an anchor between untied bellow and the boundary, in this case do we need to consider Effective id.

2.For slurry lines rubber bellows are used which does not have convolutions. Even in this case do we need to use effective ID, if no anchor is provided in between the boundaries.

If you would like to know when the pressure thrust ought to be considered, check out this post.
