Hi stressers
IN my work I have a steam system which connected with boiler we agree with client that this system will split to two system one we will do it and another boiler supplier will do it.
Boiler supplier has done his system and give us the displacement in connection point between two systems. My question how I put this this displacement in Caesar in our system?

Hello
Ahmed I had a similar situation where the Boiler suplier gave as a displacements and forces in connection piont to my system.
Question is:
How they received this results.
The simple way to left connection as free but is wrong assumption.
In my case when we assume vendor data we received a huge forces and moments on Boiler and also steam boiler.
So the best way is when You get a model from Boiler suplier and add your part.
Becasue the forces and moments in connection point depends from shape (route) of piping system, types of support, types of valves etc.
So when I finish my calculation connected with boiler calculation the forces and moments were different like boiler vendor give at beggining.
I my opinion You should ask them for thier calculation model and do Yours connected with them.

Of course It is only my opinion acc. my experience.

Regards

Ahmed..
Boiler supplier is going to do analysis of internal piping?

As per my understanding, supplier has calculated displacements based on some fixing point of internal piping/nozzles. So you should simply input that displacements at connection node and analyse your part.

Adrian,
What you said is correct that piping shall have relative displacements according to routing and temperature, BUT here, connection is with equipment so there should be some fixed point for nozzle pipe.

Thank you Adrian
Thank you Ankit but the cnnecteion piont not on boiler nozzle. it is between steam line and boiler piping package before boiler itself

Yes it's true. If Ahmed has a fix point like Anchor and in this point has a displacements and forces he can implement this value and it is okey for him.

In my case I have a vertical pipe after the main gate valve and I have forces and moments in end of unsupported pipe, so in my case this value was nonsense

So Ahmed
I think that You can do the same like me.
In my case after my calculation we have meeting with streesman from Boiler supplier and he talked that this solution is okey.
So good luck
