hi friends,

1)I have carried out multi support response spectrum analysis in caesar. From the dynamic out ,i was able to identify the maximum stresses & its location.using shock case output option i was trying to find which mode and load component (dir& sequence number) is responsible for that(it was 2 Z(B). i was able to identify the mode (2 one) and direction(Z),but i was unable to interpret what does the letter B stands for. can any one suggest what it is . i have used total of 39 load cases(13 for each x,y&Z dir).
2) whether there are any standard benchmark problems for SAM analysis of piping under Multi support excitation in literature,so that i can try that in caesar before applying it to my problem.

regards
Uday

1) When you perform an ISM (Independent Support Motion) analysis, that 3rd line in the output indicates where the maximum contributing load comes from: (a) the mode (frequency), (b) the load direction), and (c) which support group. The support groups are numbered, but if you have more than 9, the software starts using the alphabet (a, b, c, etc).

2) The only such benchmarks that I'm aware of are the NRC benchmarks. These are available for CAESAR II if you purchase the Verification & Validation Manual. Accompanying the manual is a DVD with the job files (so you don't have to build the model and create the loading input) and verified output. You can run these jobs on your system and compare to the output provided on the DVD.
