Dear Support,

Why does PV Elite 2016 not perform the WRC 107 calculations for the reaction of the legs connected to a dished end, in my case, an elliptical head?

The WRC 107 calculations are performed if the legs are connected to the body. But now when they are connected to the head.

Is this intentional or a bug?
Thanks,
Regards,
Kenneth Gomez.

My mistake. I found out that to get the WRC calculations to work, the 'Distance from Node' entry must be 1 mm or more.

Hello Kenneth,

Sometimes, when we catch our breath, a solution comes down from its perch and settles within reach. By the way, I usually discourage folk from putting legs underneath a vessel for reasons of fatigue. I prefer putting on the cylindrical shell where much of the load is taken in shear. It is a typical German practice.

Thanks Ray for the practical advise. I shall make a note of it.

I was trying hard to find a possible solution to why PVElite was not calculating the WRC. It was only, like you said, when I stopped and composed and sent this email, that the answer arrived. I shall learn to take a break, in the future, under such conditions.

Thanks again Ray. Much appreciated.

Regards,
Kenneth.
