Please advise on a way to convert PV Elite model to any compatible format for 3D CAD packages.

Hello raab

We are aware of the need for this functionality. Development is working on this at the moment, but there is not announcement as yet. A PV Elite model can already be exported to CADWorx, which is a AutoCAD based programme.

HI,
Yes i imported pvdb file into Cadworx Equipment and saved as dwg file anyway.Disadvantage side of this i experienced is that global cordinates are not matching what you have selected in PV elite. So nozzles and saddles change their orientations as per cadworx. I should have spent some more time to re-orient them to the original position, same as in pv elite.
Hopefully to see new development to convert directly to CAD format which we can also save as "acis sat" format to open it in FEA based softwares such as solidworks (or the others).

Hi Raab,

You can change the model angle direction and orientation before you import in CADWorx Equipment. Open PV Elite then go to Tools Ribbon menu and select the "Set Configuration Parameters.." then go to the "Default Value Settings" and change the "Default Angle Direction and Orientation".

Yes, perhaps in the future PV Elite can export to a CAD format for FEA based Software.
