Oddly enough, I've never encountered this until now. I have a situation where I have nozzles whose OD match a nominal size - in this case, 5". In the help, I note it suggest to either offset the value by 1/16", or disable the setting that overrides this feature in the units file.

It's not clear where I can toggle this option in the help file. Could someone please advise?

In addition, I would suggest that CAESAR be able to detect whether an entry is an integer value or a double value (e.g. "5" versus "5.0") and only override when the integer value is entered.

Your units file (.FIL) has the switch for nominal pipe sizes on or off.
Build a new units file with Nominals "off", specify these units in your configuration file, start a new model.
If your model exists, convert that model to the new units using Utilities>Change Model Units.
I like your suggested modification but I'm not sure how we would handle nominals under 1 inch. (I've seem models with such small ODs!)

Thanks - found it.

I suppose there are two additional monkey wrenches here:

Intermediate nominal sizes 1.5, 2.5, 3.5, and perhaps if the user wants to input in feet-inch input.

In which case, I revise the suggestion to interpreting the input to any number of decimal places beyond what is deemed typical.

It's still easier to type in 5.00000 to result in 5.0".
