Mr.Diehl,
in one of the previous posts you mentioned that +YROD only carry loads downward, while I see it takes load in lift off as well, how?

14122 Rigid +YROD
4(OPE) -29340 371084 9913 0.0 0.0 0.0

14125 Rigid +YROD
4(OPE) -32985 388075 6581 0.0 0.0 0.0
just as an idea is not it better to show Rods as below:

YROD
stiff up:
stiff down:

instead of having +/- and one stiffness.
an unstable tiny rigid rod should have a small stiffness in compression, should not?
Thanks

Tell me what post it is and I will update it.

The sign on the YROD (or XROD, or ZROD) is important. It indicates the direction of the center of the sphere of free motion. (Rod length defines the radius of this sphere.) +YROD indicates that the center of this sphere is above the node; -YROD indicates that this center is below the node. If no sign is provided, + is assumed.

Our rod model will not provide the tension v. compression stiffness relationship that you wish to employ here.

Thanks, I removed my false statement. Thanks.
