I have some problem that failed in EXP stresses as attached.(Node.1580 is failed by 128% at design temp.)
I will try again with changing S.I.F as per the STP-PT-073.
But I don't know how to apply exactly.
Belows are my some question. Please reply...

1. Regarding TEE intersection, is it possible to input value for " Run in/out plane" only? or should I input SIF for In/out-plane, torsion, axial?

2. In my case, the overstress point is node.1580 as attached, Can I change SIF for node 1580 only? or should I change SIF for near 90elbow, 45elbow together?
or all branch and bend point in this system to be changed? Which is the most accurate?

3. I heard that we can use FEA programs like FEATools, Nozzle pro.. to insert stiffness at branch connection also. What is the difference among below 3 method?
1) Input SIF calculated by hand as per STP-PT-073 ANNEX A
2) Input SIF calculated by NOZZLE PRO
3) Insert stiffness value calculated by NOZZLE PRO

As stated in WRC-329, improving the SIF values without improving the flexibilities means you're only addressing half the problem. This is why STP-PT-073 includes those equations for flexibilities for the branch and header.

I highly recommend you acquire and apply FEATools, since this technology will modify your CAESAR II model, applying both the revised SIFs as well as the recommended flexibilities.

If you want to see the effects of FEATools (the revised load/stress distribution) submit your model to PRG using this form:
